It gets the name as it is origin for the river “Amrutvahini”. Located in the district of Ahmednagar, it stands tall to 4255 feet above mean sea level. The fort is about 2000 years old and is situated at banks of Bhandardara lake. The main attraction of this fort is “Amurteshwar” temple which falls into “Hemadpant Era” ( way back to eighth century ). It truly defines the ancient sculpture of our great ancestors due to it’s carving.                          One DayTrek to Peb Fort (Vikatgad) on 9 th October 2022   Little brief : Grade: Medium Height : 2100 ft Fees : 700 /- per head   It’s a small fort near the ranges of Matheran on northeast side of Panvel at a distance of 3-4 km on west side of Neral. It is also known as Vikatgad and has an elevation of 2100 feets. The forts and hills in and around Peb Fort are Nakhind, Chanderi, Mahasmal and Prabalgad. This fort is visible from the edge of Panorama Point at Matheran or from Matheran Toy Train after you cross the One Kiss Tunnel.   Itinerary: 06:00 am : Catch the 6:10 am CST-Karjat fast local (Dadar-6:24, Thane-6:50) 08:00 am : Reporting time at Neral Station. Introduction, Tea & Breakfast 08:30 am : Take a taxi to Dasturi naka. 09:00 am : Reach Dasturi naka and start trek 11:30 am : Reach Peb fort, explore and have lunch. 13:30 am : Start descend toward Dasturi naka taxi stand. 15:00 am : Reach Dasturi naka and take taxi till neral. 1

Ancient rock-cut caves, Kondana Caves are very famous Buddhist caves. These caves enclose sculptures, vihara, cahitya and stupa. Sculptures and stupas are specimens of the ancient period Buddhist architecture. There was a natural disaster in the form of an earth quake in early 1900 by which many stupas, front entrance and floor of the caves were damaged. These ancient caves attract lots of tourists and Buddhist devotees all through the year. There are some restrictions on these protected ancient caves. Smoking and the consumption of liquor and aromatic foods are prohibited nearby places of the caves. Kondana Caves is around 15 KM from Karjat.    Itinerary:
